All The Breaks You Need In Life Wait

“All the breaks you need in life wait within your imagination, Imagination is the workshop of your mind, capable of turning mind energy into accomplishment and wealth.”

Napoleon Hill

Your imagination is the most powerful tool you have.  It will let you bring to life things that have never existed. To imagine is to form a mental image of something that is not actually present.  Some synonyms of imagine are brainstorm, conceptualize, create, depict, envision, invent, picture, realize and visualize.

Except for the naturally occurring things around you, everything around you once just existed in someone’s imagination.  The imagination is how we create new things.  It is how we advance our technologies.

Einstein said that imagination was more important than knowledge because knowledge is only about what is, but, imagination is about what might be.  Without his imagination, Einstein could never have thought of the theory of relativity.

Don’t discourage kids from being creative and imaginative.  Don’t tell them to live in reality because it is those who don’t live in reality that give us all of the wonderful things around us.

While Kissing A Pretty Girl

“Any man who can drive safely while kissing a pretty girl is simply not giving the kiss the attention it deserves.”

Albert Einstein

Einstein was definitely  a brilliant man.  He was able to postulate the theory of relativity and keep the really important things at the front of his mind.

Our relationships are the most important things we have.  Life is not worth living if we don’t have someone to share the moment with.  There can be no great achievement without the interaction of others.  It is those around us that make it a great achievement.

You can sign a song, or write a book, or paint a picture, but, without someone to listen, or read, or view your creation, it is meaningless.

An idea is not brilliant unless there are those to evaluate it, unless you are willing to put it out there for others to see.

You can’t become great in a vacuum.  Get your ideas out there.  Get people to view them.  Have someone to share the moment with.

The Way You Talk About Yourself

“The way you talk about yourself and your life – your story – has a great deal to do with what shows up in your day-to-day experience. Your thoughts create filters through which you view your life.”

David Emerald

Don’t let yourself get caught in the “woe is me” mentality.  If you think “woe is me” and talk to others about “woe is me” then you will live a “woe is me” life.

Many people have stated that we become what we repeatedly think and talk about.  IS what you are thinking and saying what you want to become?

Negative thoughts beget negative emotions.  Negative emotions beget attitudes.  Negative attitudes beget negative habits.  Negative habits beget a negative life.

You need to concentrate on the good in your life.  Everyday you need to come up with 10 things that are good in your life and that you are thankful for.  Think about each of these things one at a time until you really feel the thankfulness for that thing.

After you are done with the things that you are thankful about in your life, think of the top 10 things you would like to see in your life.  Write down this top 10 list with the most important at the top.  Go through the list one at a time and think about how your life would be different with it in your life.

Think about each item until you feel the joy for having that item in your life.  If there is an item you can’t feel joy about, remove it from the list and add something that you can feel joy about.

Read your list three times a day feeling the emotion you would feel if the items were in your life.  Feel the thankfulness that you would feel if the item was in your life.  Expect the item to be in your life.

Repeat this process everyday and you will see amazing things happen.

I Know For Sure That

“I know for sure that what we dwell on is who we become.”

Oprah Winfrey

Do you have the perfect blueprint of you?  Have you sat down and written in detail what you want you to be?  Do you know exactly what your perfect life would look like?  How would you spend your time?

These are questions that deserve to be dwelt on.  These are questions that can change your life.  If you ask these questions expecting an answer, your mind will work on that answer until it comes up with something that it thinks answers them.

If we become what we dwell on, what better to dwell on than what our perfect self would look like.  Our consistent thoughts create our future.  You are where you are in life because of the thoughts you have previously had.

Want a better life?  Think better thoughts.  Consistently.  Dwell on those better thought.  Become the person you have always thought you could be.  Don’t settle for less than you can be.  Don’t let another day go by without answering the questions in the first paragraph.

Once you have answered the questions, don’t let a day go by without reviewing your answers.  Dwell on your answers.  Become that perfect you.

Ordinary People Believe Only In

“Ordinary people believe only in the possible. Extraordinary people visualize not what is possible or probable, but rather what is impossible. And by visualizing the impossible, they begin to see it as possible.”

Cherie Carter-Scott

All great advancements comes from imagination and visualization.  We create improvements by asking a few simple questions and allowing our minds to imagine what could be the answer to those questions.

How could this be better?

What would make my life easier?

What could I create that people would want to use?

What could I write about that would be different?

It doesn’t take a genius to come up with a brilliant idea.  It takes someone who repeatedly asks themselves the above questions and expects an answer.

“Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited to all we now know and understand, while imagination embraces the entire world, and all there ever will be to know and understand.”

Albert Einstein

Imagine what could be and then make it happen.

If You Want To Reach A Goal

“If you want to reach a goal, you must ‘see the reaching’ in your own mind before you actually arrive at your goal.”

Zig Ziglar

“See things as you would have them be instead of as they are.”

Robert Collier

“You must see your goals clearly and specifically before you can set out for them. Hold them in your mind until they become second nature.”

Les Brown

“We lift ourselves by our thought. We climb upon our vision of ourselves. If you want to enlarge your life, you must first enlarge your thought of it and of yourself. Hold the ideal of yourself as you long to be, always everywhere.”

Orison Swett Marden

Visualization is a much used technique of highly successful people.  Visualization is seeing the outcome that you want to have as a clear picture in your mind.  The picture needs to be clear and precise.  Make sure you see the details.

Try to use all of your senses.  What do you see?  What do you hear?  What do you feel?  What are you saying?  What are you tasting?  It will help if you write it down as a story.  Put in as much detail as you can come up with.

More Gold Has Been Mined From

“More gold has been mined from the thoughts of men than has been taken from the earth.”

Napoleon Hill

Thought, the single most valuable thing you have.  Take a look around you and you will see the fruit of the thoughts of  mankind.  Nothing you see would be possible except for the power of thought.

But, thought doesn’t just create the things around you, it creates YOU.

“As a man thinketh in his heart so is he … A man is literally what he thinks, his character being the complete sum of all his thoughts … Man is made or unmade by himself; in the armory of thought he forges the weapons by which he destroys himself. He also fashions the tools with which he builds for himself heavenly mansions of joy and strength and peace … They themselves are makers of themselves”

James Allen from As A Man Thinketh

What You Do Speaks So Loudly

“What you do speaks so loudly that I cannot hear what you say.”

Ralph Waldo Emerson

What you say is of little consequence compared to what you DO.  Words are easy, action is what counts.  No one will believe what you say if your actions contradicts your words.

Take this extreme example: If I say, ‘I’m not going to slap you.’ and then slap you, what will you believe?  Will you believe my words or my actions?  Or course you will believe my actions.

Your actions will always be what people really believe of you.  If you want to convince someone, take actions that will convince them.  Don’t tell them, show them.

Here are a few quotes about words vs. action:

“Love is not about how much you say ‘I love you,’ but how much you can prove that it’s true.”

“Small deeds done are better than great deeds planned.”

“A promise is a cloud; fulfillment is rain.”

“Never Trust Words..Trust Actions…Actions Always Speak Louder Than Words….!”

“Do noble things, not talk about them all day long.”

“Don’t say things. What you are stands over you the while, and thunders so that I cannot hear what you say to the contrary.”

All That You Accomplish

“All that you accomplish or fail to accomplish with your life is the direct result of your thoughts.”

James Allen

What we consistently focus on we become.  If you don’t like where you are in life, it’s time to change what you consistently think about.  Your thoughts and your actions create your very existence.  Are you deciding what to think about, or, do you think about what pops up in front of you?

“A person cannot directly choose his circumstances, but he can choose his thoughts, and so indirectly, yet surely, shape his circumstances.”

James Allen

If your dominate thoughts are negative and dark, then your life will be negative and dark.  If you are always looking for something to complain about, you will always find it.  If you look for something to be angry about, you will find it.  If you look for something to be upset about, you will find it.

Conversely, if you look for something to be happy about, you will find it.  If you look for something to commend, you will find it.  If you look for something positive, you will find it.

Change the questions you ask yourself on a daily basis.  Ask yourself the following questions; What is good about today?  What can I be happy about right now?  What are 10 things that I am thankful for?

Ask yourself the above questions multiple times a day and you will be amazed at how wonderful your life will become.  Answering these questions and really thinking about the answers will train your mind to start looking for the good, the positive, the wonderful.

People Often Say

“People often say that motivation doesn’t last. Well, neither does bathing – that’s why we recommend it daily.”

Zig Ziglar

That is why I continue to write these posts.  I’m writing for me as much as anyone else.  I write to remind myself to keep taking action, to keep thinking positive thoughts, to remember to focus on the right things, that failure is not permanent.

You should have something positive that you read every day.  You should have a specific time set aside each day to read it.  You should give thanks each day for the wonderful things is your life (you have many more than you can imagine).

Someone reading this is thinking to themselves that they don’t have any wonderful things in their live.  They are wrong.  If you are reading this you have eyes to see it.  You have a mind to comprehend it.  You have access to a computer.  You have air to breath, water to drink and food to eat.

Look around you and you will see hundreds if not thousands of things to be thankful for.  Here are a few I can see from where I am sitting:

  1. An American Flag that represents the freedom to write this.
  2. The desk my computer is on.
  3. The phone on the desk.
  4. The chair I’m in.
  5. The cup of coffee I’m drinking.
  6. The speakers that are connected to my computer.
  7. My hands, legs, and feet.
  8. A stapler.
  9. A coat rack.
  10. A calendar.
  11. A fan.

Many of these things we all take for granted, but, they all make our lives a little easier.  Take the time today to really think of the things you are thankful for.
